Welcome to my first post
Welcome to the Zhouk Design blog. I am creating this blog to keep up to date with my progress on starting Zhouk Design where I will be making tote bags, hand bags, pouches and eventually…and hopefully…paper goods with original designs. I have wanted to put this blog together for a few months and could have posted so many things already, but at least it’s up and running now. Expect to see lots of changes to this page over the next several months, hopefully customizing the layout quite a bit.
I’d like to share a few things I have finished recently, to get things up to date.
My latest project: A lovely bag, pattern designed by machenmachen. I made this bag for myself with this Sketchbook fabric I have been dying to use for some time. I must admit the darts were a little challenging at first, but I think it turned out great!

Ikea Tote
This is the 2nd version of the original Ikea Tote that I made with some Patricia fabric designed by Linda Svensson. I only bought enough fabric for two bags and I SO wish I would have bought a bolt! I haven’t seen it at my local store since. I just love this combination and this will remain one of my favorites for a long time. This bag will eventually be for sale on Etsy.com as soon as I have my shop set up with some inventory. Keep checking back in the next couple of weeks for more information on my etsy shop.
The bag’s handles are made using reclaimed wool.

Large Bud Tote
This tote uses a reclaimed hammock for the base, handles and interior pocket. This bag is perfect for summer or fall and will also be available for sale on etsy soon.

The Stephanie Tote
Inspired by my friend Stephanie’s request for a bright and colorful bag (she particularly loves red and orange). This bag includes a hidden exterior pocket, interior pocket, snap closure and square metal rings to accentuate the handles. The base and handles use an interesting quilted and shiny black fabric, making this a great day to evening bag. This was a one of a kind, but I expect to use this self-designed pattern on future bags.

Mod Flowers Tote
A super bright and colorful bag, this bag has been used by my friend Michelle throughout summer, fall and winter so far! This was a one-of-a-kind. I especially love the last minute handle details on this one. Also includes an interior pocket and pen/lipstick pouch.

I’m still loving my bag, and continue to use it daily. It perfectly holds my bento box lunches & smoothie. I get compliments on the bag all the time. I can’t wait for your etsy shop to open! I am following your blog now. Keep it up! It’s a fun & motivating read.

I, too, am VERY much in love with the Stephanie Tote - go figure… I haven’t carried anything else since getting it. I take it to work, and out, and to the store, and just pop anything I need to inside, and still have room for random purchases. Its amazing how much I can fit in it, without looking bulky or awkward. And, it just looks cool. Congrats on the now-running blog! I KNOW this will be a huge success for you!

Thank you for making my pattern up - it looks fab in those fabrics, and I love the buckle on the handle too
Good luck with your shop

Hi, I work with your friend Julia (very nice lady) and she had a one-of-a kind beautiful bag. She told me about Zhouk. I would like to order a bag but can’t decide which one! Approximate what is the cost for one?
